"I GRINNED AT MR. GRIM"
---
The grim reaper enters the room
I state you will stay for tea I assume
He is flabbergasted and his face dim as the moon
You invite me for drinks must you be a loon
I say is it because you believe death is an unwanted visitor I presume
He says yes
I say to that notion to hell or in my case to heaven - for you are the free vacation I’ve been dreaming of going on soon
His face illustrates disbelief
The grim reaper exits the room
He comes back in and sits me down
His face coloured with a rather striking frown
You know death is not a beauty lounge
I reply yes that is beknownst but that is not the full picture
Have you never opened in your pitch black hands a holy scripture
And read and read
And fed yourself the knowledge that it is not the worst thing to be dead
Yet it is a beginning
A new life - a new love - a new experience
And I am sorry at your reaction to mine -
Death and I just tend to see eye to eye and neither you nor my loved ones will keep me from my demise
For death is the unwanted visitor I’ve been wanting to surprise.
